Riverside Opera is joined by Musica Poetica London for a celebration of early opera. Like games of chess, themes of scheming, strategy and sacrifice weave through this pairing of early opera masterpieces. Often referred to as the ‘English Mozart’, Purcell’s hauntingly beautiful Dido and Aeneas combines with extracts from one of Mozart’s final works, La clemenza di Tito, showing his genius at its exhilarating best.
This is altogether an unmissable night rich in musical pleasure!
